AFTERNOON AT THE BODEGA: A Tea and Ikebana Experience
Hosted by Amy Williams Design

Inside a once-derelict bodega, now reimagined and restored with intention, guests are invited to spend an intimate afternoon centered on tea, flowers, and creative process. Hosted by interior designer Amy Williams in her studio, The Bodega, this intimate gathering offers a rare opportunity to engage with design in a way that’s rooted in presence and simplicity.
The experience begins with a curated tea tasting led by Tea Sommelier, Jorge Rizo. Guests will explore the history and ritual behind two grounding Asian teas, served in hand-thrown ceramic cups by local artist Bettina Chow. Earthy and sculptural, each cup and vessel is a tactile reflection of Bettina’s quiet, refined approach to form and function.
Following tea, guests will be invited into the contemplative practice of ikebana, the Japanese practice of floral arranging, led by Anya Karamalak of Afika Studio. This is not a class in florals, but an invitation to slow down, connect and observe with seasonality and simplicity. After a brief meditation, participants will create their own minimal floral compositions with a focus on gesture and intention.
Each guest will leave with their ceramic tea cups, ikebana vessel and floral arrangement and a lasting reminder of the afternoon’s quiet beauty.
