RED MODERN: THE HEART & HAND OF THE ARCHITECT

HOMEDEUS - A journey where design, destiny, ego and architecture collide.

Presented exhibition style, we’re celebrating the debut of Victor Irizarry (aka @vodlines)’s graphic novel HOMEDEUS, a story about an architect chosen for a journey where design, destiny, ego, and architecture collide.

Explore prints and original drawings from HOMEDEUS as the story jumps off the page and onto the walls. Meet Victor in person as he signs books and talks through the inspiration behind the work, from early sketches to the final world he built panel by panel.

Signed copies of HOMEDEUS will be available, with Victor on hand throughout the evening to meet guests and share a few behind the scenes notes on how the story came to life. He’s also creating special limited edition covers made just for Desert Design Week and Red Modern, with the option to add a custom, original illustration for a truly one of a kind copy.

RED MODERN

Red Modern grew out of a family legacy of collecting and living with art. Inspired by Wayne’s grandparents’ passion for surrounding themselves with objects rich in history and connection, he continues that tradition by curating works that carry the vision and soul of their creators. From Arizona-made furniture by Allen Ditson and Lee Porzio to international sculptures and fine art, Red Modern restores and presents pieces that turn ordinary spaces into something extraordinary, where craftsmanship, story, and design come together.

Red Modern is housed in a restored 1954 Ralph Haver building, one of Phoenix’s architectural gems. Once hidden beneath fluorescent lights, cubicles, and layers of paint, the space was carefully peeled back to reveal its original character. Exposed block, ceiling beams, and restored details now frame a gallery that continues to honor history, design, and craft.
