John Roark began his career as a professional illustrator and has worked as a graphic designer, art director, creative director, travel writer and editor. He joined the Phoenix Home & Garden team in 2016 as managing editor and was promoted to editor in chief in 2018. In that time, he has successfully led the PG&H creative team in re-imagining and revitalizing the Southwest’s farthest-reaching and most respected shelter publication, ushering in a successful new era in creative design and relevant and engaging editorial content.
