Benjamin Latham - Two Roses

I first met Ben Latham while spending a summer in the Pacific Northwest, and his work immediately stood out. It was refreshing to see such vibrant and playful pieces in a setting so different from the landscapes that inspire them. The bold colors, lively energy, and unmistakable Southwestern influences drew me in, and I knew his work would resonate with collectors attending the pop-up art gallery events during Desert Design Week.

His work reflects a contemporary take on the South and Southwest, blending elements like the free spirit of Laurel Canyon, the grit of West Texas, and the artistic legacy of the Taos Society of Artists. From desert sunsets to the rhythms of country music, his paintings are infused with the culture and resilience of the region, all with a modern twist.

It was a pleasure to showcase Ben’s work and see how it connected with collectors in the desert. His ability to tell a layered story through his art made his pieces a standout addition to this year’s roster of artists.
